REVIEWS
60'S/NEIL SADAKA 1. Trenyce (60's): DAMMMMmmmmmnnnn!!! This girl can sing! WOW! She kept me smiling the whole time, and she was smiling the whole time. She felt really good about it, and it reflected in her performance. She came here to win, and she should. This was definately a Tamyra-type performance, and one of the most memorable of this year. This is one of Trenyce's best. I applaud her for taking a chance and making it the most unique performance of the season. 2. Trenyce (Neil): Another good Trenyce song. She looked awesome too. And yes, she can sing. Trenyce definately dominated this night with both songs. She deserves to be in the final four based on this. 3. Kimberley Locke (Neil): This isn't as good as she can get, but it was still good. It just didn't quite compare to Trenyce. Anyways, she deserves top 2, because she's the only one who came close to Trenyce. 4. Clay (Neil): I love the song "Solitaire," but I think Sheryl Crow did a better cover of it. It wasn't as good as the judges said in my opinion. I liked it still. 5. Kimberley Locke (60's): The song didn't suit her, but her amazing voice was still there. Overall, she kind of lost me halfway through. 6. Clay (60's): Pretty boring, but he was moving, so it kept me focused. Not a winner-type performance though. 7. Ruben (Neil): Lost me through the whole song. It was way too slow, and he takes no chances 8. Ruben (60's): Just boring, and a little pitchy. 9. Joshua (Neil): Pitiful, Why is Josh still here? I think he's the only one that deserves to leave, no one comes close. 10. Joshua (60's): This wasn't good at all, I'm sorry. It was just not fun to see.
DIANE WARREN 1. Clay - Clay's song choice was the best, and he sounded great. He worked on his stage presence, and I enjoyed it. Clay is good one week, and boring another week, and this week was one of his good weeks. Remember, he is now one of two finalists who have never been in the bottom three.
2. Kimberley Locke - Kimberley is on her way to winning this whole competition! Another oustanding performance by Kimberley. It was almost flawless, and she did the song justice. Kimberley is the only contestant who keeps getting better and better. Watch out Clay and Ruben. 3. Trenyce - Trenyce slipped a little here. It wasn't as good as it could have been, but the song was hard to sing. I think she definately deserves to make it to the final two, but she'll need to raise her game for America to agree. 4. Carmen - Carmen sang her second best song of the whole season, yet she didn't get praised for it. I thought she did the song justice, and was ahead of her game. She definately outsung Joshua, without a doubt. At this point, Carmen and Joshua are just not as good as the other four, but I think she deserves to stay one more week. 5. Ruben - They say he was diverse, but he sounded exactly the same, which is why he shouldn't be in the final 2. He bores me every week, and doesn't change much. Kimberley and Trenyce are much more deserving. 6. Joshua - At this point, Josh shouldn't be here, he shouldn't have been here since Disco week. He is just out of his league, and I think his time will come soon. It was just a bad performance, boring and dull.
BILLY JOEL 1. Trenyce - Trenyce is again #1. She deserved it! She is definately the strongest in the competition right now. She delivered that with so much emotion and it was a very unique performance. The thing that separates her from Clay and Ruben is she is unpredictable and different each time. This performance was unlike anything I've seen. On top of that, she has the most incredible voice! 2. Kimberley Locke - Kimberley brings it each week! She's awesome and deserves top two with Trenyce. She is also very versatile, and I love her voice. On top of that, she gets better looking week by week. This was a good performance, but it wasn't one of her best. 3. Clay - This wasn't one of Clay's best either. It's just that everyone was pretty dull this week. I honestly didn't like the ending, but he has the pipes. He needs to work on his whole presentation, but he definately has the voice. He's sounding the same each week though, and he's not getting much better. But better than most of tonight's songs. 4. Ruben - Ruben actually improved this week. Way to go for him. It still didn't blow me away at all, but I enjoyed it. I haven't enjoyed a Ruben performance since his Aladdin song. So, this is a compliment I guess. 5. Carmen - Okay, Carmen looked like a little girl, but did not sound like one. No, it wasn't her best, but no it wasn't her worst. I enjoyed it, it's a shame the judges didn't. It was better than Josh or Kimberly Caldwell i must say. Carmen has the potential, but she doesn't use it all the time. I hope she stays longer because she's oen of my favorite contestants. 6. Joshua - This was boring. It was pretty dull. Josh doesn't really impress me anymore. He's definately not American Idol-type material too. I think he deserves to leave soon. Ah, I miss his old voice. It was so good 7. Kimberly Caldwell - Another one of her weaker performances. I think she's gone next week. Kimberly has proven she can sing, but she doesn't always pick the right songs, and tonight was an example of that.
BILLBOARD #1's
1. Trenyce - Another #1 for Trenyce. WOW! I think Simon's got it wrong, If she released this, it would debut at #1! WOW! I don't think Trenyce has ever had a bad performance in her life. I don't know why Simon hated it. I think he just wants Ruben to win, so he's criticizing her. No, it's not going to work. We're not dumb, Simon. Anyways, Trenyce was beautiful as ever and she was by far the best of the night. Only Kimberly Locke came close 2. Kimberley Locke - Wow! Kimberly Locke is becomming one of my favorites. I like her more and more each week. She chose the best song, which she usually does. The song really suited her, she's good at these types. Her whole performance just seemed so magical! Trenyce and Kim Locke were amazing, and no one came close at all! 3. Rickey - Rickey was good. I haven't said that in a long time. It wasn't outstanding or anything, but it was good. Well done. Kinda boring, but he really sang it well, and I liked the outfit. He came nowhere near the range of Trenyce or Kimberly Locke though. 4. Kimberly Caldwell - When I found out she was singing this, I knew it was gonna go in the wrong direction. I think she should have switched songs with Carmen. Anyways, nice try Kim. It was good, it just didn't suit her. It was also kind of flat. But overall, she was in tune and controlled her voice in a good way. Not her best, but better than last week. 5. Clay - The talent was there, but it just left me in a boring mood. The whole thing was pretty boring. He doesn't pick good songs, and I'm liking him less and less each week. I think he can still improve though. 6. Carmen - They didn't like it, but I did. I thought the song selection was good, because I saw No Doubt, Garbage, and The Distillers perform this one live. She didn't do as good as them, but I liked her whole attitude in it. Paula's right, she's nothing like Debbie Harry. Carmen's a good girl. Last week was so much better 7. Joshua - Good song selection, but not good singer. He was out of tune a lot. What makes him #7 over #8 is that he put in a lot of effort, where Ruben didn't. I didn't like it, but it was a lot better than last week. 8. Ruben - I still don't like Ruben yet. Simon said that if he released that song, it would go to #1... I don't think it would ever debut! If he wins American Idol, half of his singles probably won't debut. This was So boring! Ruben sounds the same each week, and gets the same compliments each week. So overrated! And he has no stage presence whatsever. He will probably go far though.
DISCO 1. Carmen - WOW! During the Wildcard Show, I never thought Carmen would score #1, but Carmen is now my second favorite performer! (next to Trenyce). She's really improving each week, starting with that horrible wildcard one. She gets better each week (with the exception of "Wild Angels," and she deserves to move on far. She was flawless in this, and those lyrics were hard! And country girl singing disco, something Josh couldn't do. I would have gave this girl a standing ovation. Definately #1, and many would argue Kim Locke or Trenyce were better, but they had some flaws. Carmen was flawless. Way to Go Carmen! 2. Kimberley Locke - Kim Locke at #2! She's really imporving. Everything was good, except that little thing in the beginning. I loved the aphro too! She's good at both slow and fast songs, which is what I love about her. She was defiantely the best of tonight, and she sang it better than Kelly last year. Trenyce is still the best female, of what I've seen. 3. Trenyce - WOW! Another stellar performance by my favorite, Trenyce! I was smiling the whole time. It was a little pitchy, but her stage presence made up for it. She cut her hair, which I didn't like, but she still looks beautiful! 4. Clay - Clay's had better performances. Unlike Carmen, it seems like he's getting worse each week. Clay's going downhill, but I still believe he's gonna make it top three. I think he has talent, he's just picking the wrong songs, and he sounds the same each time. 5. Ruben - Hello, Mr. OVERRATED! He doesn't suck, but after his overexposure, I'm hating this dude. He sings the simplest songs. If Clay sang that song, he would have done a better job. Even Carmen chose a more challenging song than him. And even if he sucks, Simon's got his back, which is unfair. Ruben's time is near, and doesn't deserve to win. Dont' get me wrong, he's good, but he's not challenging himself, and Simon's in love with him for no reason. It's really annoying. He'll probably win though. He's also getting worse each week. 6. Kimberly Caldwell - One week she's amazing, next week she sucks. Then, she's amazing again, and then the next (which would be this time), she's horrible! Yes, she was. She was pitchy, although she hit the high notes good. She has good stage presence too. Probably she'll be bottom three again. Bad song selection 7. Rickey - Rickey has been unimpressive this whole time, and his time is up. Either him or Josh should be out next. I think Charles deserves his spot. Actually, going back to Group 3, I think Equoia deserved his spot! 8. Joshua - Very unimpressive! Ever since he's gone his country ways, he's been getting a lot worse, and this was very amateur.
COUNTRY 1. Kimberley Locke - Each week, Kimberly's improving. "Home" was great, and this week it got even better. But, it's nothing near Trenyce's "I Have Nothing," but it was a beautiful song with beautiful vocals. If she keeps this up, she'll get pretty far. Tonight's performances weren't as good as they could be, but Kimberly managed to give us an incredible performance. I do believe she was the best tonight. Definately made me smile 2. Kimberly Caldwell - Absolutely amazing! (although this wasn't her best, "Nowhere to Run" was her best). She is definately suited for country songs, and she really made that song her own, it could even pass off as a female song. I was tempted to give her #1, but after going over the tapes, she was kind of pitchy in areas, and she really couldn't go to the low notes. Overall, good job. 3. Trenyce - Trenyce! Still my favorite, I'm still rooting for her to win. The problem with Trenyce is that she is so great that a good performances just doesn't sound good anymore. We always expect her to blow us away, and this time she didn't. But still, I didn't see Ruben hitting those high notes. I didn't see Julia doing that either, I don't know why Simon hated it. It was probably the worst I've heard from Trenyce, but still one of the best of the nights. I think she was very worried or sad, maybe even depressed. But anyways, Trenyce is always doing her thing, and just because she isn't as good as usual doesn't mean it's not good! 4. Clay - Clay looked sad as well. Overall good, but kind of boring. He didn't move around at all, and hit less high notes as last week. Last week was definately better for Clay. Overall, it was good, just not GREAT! 5. Ruben - Ruben aka. Mr. Overrated 205! That whole teddybear thing was so overrated. Where's Trenyce's teddybear!!! When they walked out to be introduced, Clay and Ruben got a roaring response, which makes me think they're the final two. Anyways, after hearing Ruben sing the same line over and over again, it wasn't bad. I liked how he sang it, and it proves he can sing both slow and fast songs. Although, he always picks the easiest songs. He doesn't challenge himself like Clay and Trenyce do, which makes him less deserving. If Clay sang that song, he would have impressed everyone, but he decided to challenge himself. 6. Julia - It's hard going after Ruben, and not because Ruben's good, but just because Ruben's defaitnely overrated. Julia definately improved, but still hasn't "WOW'd" me. I have been wishing she'd sing a slow song like "Unbreak My Heart," but she's still not there, and I believe she never will get back up to that level. Julia was very good in the early rounds, but she's lacking a lot now. I think this may have been one of her last performances. 7. Corey - Although i HATE this kid, it was one of his best performances. He showed no range at all, but he succeeded in picking a good song. Song selection was right on. But, talk about the outfit! That was scary on it's own. Almost as scary as his performance last week. 8. Carmen - I must say I'm a huge fan of Carmen. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! But, "Wild Angels?" What was that all about! the song selection KILLED her! It didn't compliment her at all. Country was supposed to be her night, but it was'nt. Poor thing. She'll probably last through this round though. 9. Rickey - Mr. Hercules almost made me sleep! Every slow song he sings completely bores me. And, I dont like his extremely high voice. Definately boring boring boring! He nedes to sing a faster song 10. Joshua - WHOA! Biggest dissapointment of the night. We all know he's going to country, and probably will stick with it, which is upsetting. During "I'll Be" and "Baby I Need Your Lovin," i loved the guy! he had an amazing voice with a nice tone. He was very adult contemporary, something I would listen to. But now he seems to get worse and worse. I couldn't understand a thing he said! Garth Brooks isn't exactly a wise choice to cover, but whatever, that's his decision. I still respect him a lot as a marine, I just don't like him as a singer anymore
MOVIES 1. Trenyce - Once again, Trenyce was the star of the night! That song is so hard to sing, and I'm really believing that she has more vocals than Frenchie Davis! If Trenyce doesn't win, I'll be sad. I do know she'll be in the top three though. But, this was amazing, and it's up with "Let's Stay Together" as the best American Idol 2 songs. 2. Clay - I actually have liked more Clay performances in the past, but this was good. It looks like the producers put all the good performers in the beginning. Clay's peak was defiantely "I Can't Help Myself" aka... "Sugar Pie Honeybunch." He's got a long way, and he's gonna shock us later. 3. Kimberley Locke - "Heatwave" was bad, and I knew she'd really come back with a good performance. Although it was kind of boring in the beginning, she really made up for it at the end. And I love the look, although she looks like a different person. Great song choice, and most improved
4. Ruben - Ruben's song was really easy to sing, but he made it sound really good. I really enjoyed this rendition, because I like his tone of voice. I still don't think Ruben can hit high notes like Clay, and he's a boring performer too. I think America loves him too much, and more than he actually deserves... he's overrated. 5. Kimberly Caldwell - This was probably Kim's worst performance on AI2 so far. But it was still good. I didn't like the fact that she let the backround singers sing for her. Last week was definately her best, along with "Come To My Window." I see a lot of potential in her, but I don't see her winning. 6. Carmen - I'm liking her more every week. She did good. I think that she'll last a few more weeks. She's good, just not stunning. But, I'm a fan of Carmen! I hope she lasts. ...By the way, Simon, Natalie Maines (Dixie Chicks) is a lot better than a lot of performers over here. And by the way, at the results show, she was awesome in "Footloose."
7. Joshua - DUDE! Everyone's probably thinking the same thing. I was a big fan before, but now that I know he's gonna do country from now on, I don't know. I mean, I like country, but he definately had an amazing pop voice. His country voice is average, and it's not consistent. This killed his chances at winning. BUT, I do admire him and give him a lot of respect for being a marine. 8. Julia - Again, I love her tone of voice, but she's not stunning me like she did when she sang "Unbreak My Heart!" She needs to sing more slow songs. Then, America will fall in love with her again. It looks like she cleaned up the attitude. I'm still a big fan. 9. Charles - Charles has a good voice, but he doesn't pick the right songs. I really loved "Overjoyed," but I'm not liking stuff at this point. Like Julia, he's better with the slower songs. I have to say I'm still a big fan. 10. Rickey - Rickey was so boring! He's good, but man he's boring! Definately don't like him anymore. I mean, I started talking to my mom halfway through the performance 11. Corey - WHOA! He tries way too hard! "Foolish Heart" sucked, "This Old Heart Of Mine" was actually good, and this is just pathetic. Corey's high notes make me think Juanita's singing. He's a waste of space! Bring back Candice or Equoia! Take this guy out.
MOTOWN 1. Trenyce - Amazing job! Last week's "Let's Stay Together" is really hard to beat, but this song is almost as good. A lot better than everyone else. Keep this up, and she'll be the winner, hopefully 2. Clay - Clay's voice actually matches pretty well with the song! It's not bad. The moves make me laugh a little, but this guy is trying harder than anyone else in the competition. 3. Kimberly Caldwell - As an original Julia lover/Kim hater, I can tell you that Kim has more than Julia, well at least after this. She keeps getting better. This was her best so far. 4. Vanessa - Simon says she's just an entertainer, but after listening to her song on audio, it was very good. She has a unique voice and really hits those notes. 5. Joshua - I actually like Josh's voice a lot. It's very modern adult contemporary. I give him a lot of credit for doing this motown stuff, and making it sound good. 6. Ruben - Ruben is way too overrated, but his song was average. I'm one of the only people that think Josh's rendition was better. 7. Julia - I honestly love Julia's voice! But I don't like her stage presence, and her attitude, which is what brought her down past Josh and Ruben. The song really suits her well 8. Carmen - Carmen's voice isn't as good as say, Trenyce, but her stage presence is really good. Although I believe she covered the Dixie Chicks' cover of that song, I thought the song was really right for her
9. Corey - Performance was good, and although I don't like Corey, I admit this song was pretty good for him. I still don't love it though.
10. Charles - I love Charles' vocals, but the song wasn't right, and it just wasn't good overall. I'm a big Charlie fan though. 11. Kimberley Locke - "Heatwave" wasn't right for her, but her vocals really shined. I know she is capable of more
12. Rickey - Good voice, bad song, bad stage presence, and boring overall performance.
