Clay Aiken: Very promising voice from this guy. I agree with the judges that he doesn't "look" the part, but that shouldn't be an issue! They were saying it too much! Poor guy. There were a lot of great acts tonight though, which is why I put Clay in for 4th place. He was one of the four that were amazing, and if he were in last week's competition, I know he'd be in the top three. Definately. I think he has a good chance in making the top three, but probably won't make the top two.
Candice Coleman: Originally my favorite. This girl is the most original and unique, which makes her seperate from the rest of the contestants. She blew this away with "Piece of My Heart," which shows that she is a rocker as well as a blues/jazz musician. She has to work on the stage presence a little. But, She's definately got the best voice and style. I love her smoky voice! I wish she had sang something by Etta James or Ella Fitzgerald. Maybe next time. THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME. Actually, unfortunately, I don't think that America will vote for Candice. She might be in the top three, but I have a feeling she won't be in the top two, which is dissapointing. She has a great career ahead of her, and she was definately good. Oh yeah, forgot to mention she's CUTE. Cute little personality too. She gets my 2nd place pick.
Rebecca Bond: This girl has potential, but overdoes a few things. I don't think she's cut out for the competition, and probably won't move on. She was the best out of the bottom four though. She'd probably end up 6th place in this crowd. She has a lot of confidence, and doesn't seem to take criticism. Overall, she's okay, just not good enough.
Jacob John Smalley: This guy is annoying! Just because Paula gave him one compliment, he keeps using that as his only weapon. And he tried to suck it up a little, but Simon wouldn't take it. Very bad voice. He destroyed the Brian McKnight song. Bad personality, bad looks, bad voice! One of the worst in this competition so far. Sucking up won't get him anywhere, and he probably won't make it through to the next round.
Hadas: Probably the best Song Selection. I really liked this song. I remember saying that her soft voice wasn't that great, but she really hits those high notes. I don't think she'll make it to the next round. Like her father said, she does have potential to be a superstar, maybe just not in this competition. Love her though. She gets my 5th place, which puts her in the middle category.
Ruben Studdard: Ruben was great! He gets my 3rd place vote. He sang that song already, which gives him negative points, but he's a favorite of mine, and I do believe that he will be in the top two next week. If not, top three. There's no doubt about it. Good voice, good stage presence, and overall good song selection.
Kimberly Locke: Love her! Ever since I heard her sing with Frenchie, I knew she could do this, and with Frenchie out of the competition, she may even win. Who knows. I give her first place for the night. She sang this song three times, which made me dock off points though. But definately love the song, love the vibrato, love the tone, love her confidance. There is no doubt she'll be in the top two. Whether Candice, Clay, or Ruben is next to her, I dont know. I just know she's gonna be in the top two. Definately. You will see her name.
Jennifer Fuentes: Save the best for last? Not really. She was not that good, let's just face it. The song was bad. I'd like to hear her ballds, but we don't have time, and with Candice, Kimberly, Clay, Ruben, and Hadas in this, she won't advance. America pretty much knows her fate. Too bad, because she had a cute personality.
OVERALL:
1. Kimberly: Great Great Great Vocals! She's already a diva
2. Candice: My favorite, overall. She has the looks, the style, the personality, and the most unique voice. Just had a bad song this time.
3. Ruben: Big guy with Big vocals!
4. Clay: Good job for him. A Little broadway, but still good.
5. Hadas: Love the song. Pretty good.
6. Rebecca: Wasn't feeling her style, or the song.
7. Jennifer: Bad song selection. Cute personality
8. Jacob: Bad vibes everywhere! Bad voice, bad look, lame personality.
PREDICTIONS:
TOP 2
Kimberly and Ruben
TOP 3
Candice (If not Candice, then Clay)
REACTION: WOW! America picked the right choices. But it was a little predictable. The top three were very predictable. Too bad Candice didn't make it. I do wish that Clay was in the top two instead of Ruben. Yeah, Ruben's good, but I watched the tapes, and he's not as good as everyone says. Hopefully Candice comes back for wildcard, but I have a feeling Clay will take her spot. Anyways, Kimberly and Ruben are in the final four now. YAY! Go Kimberly!
I just hope next week is a little less predictable. Kimberly and Ruben were favored by the judges, and got a lot of previous air time, which leads me to believe that America was influenced by that. The underdogs like Hadas, and last weeks' Trenyce don't have much of a chance. I'm hoping someone shines next week, preferable Jordan. But then again, it's up to America.
