September 14: the Goo Goo Dolls took their first Veteran Award, with "Sympathy" which peaked at #18, and barely made it with 30 weeks.
September 7: Counting Crows hit the Veteran's Hall of Fame for the first time, while sharing the award with Vanessa, who has already been honored a Veteran. Together, their hit "Big Yellow Taxi" peaked at #11 and stayed on the charts a total of 34 weeks.
August 16: Avril Lavigne received her second Veteran Award with "I'm With You," her biggest vanilla hit. "I'm With You" spent a massive 41 weeks on the charts, and peaked at #1
August 9: Norah Jones' "Don't Know Why" set many records. It was the longest chart run on the Vanilla Top 100 history, with a whopping 58 weeks! She was also the first to have the oldest song, and that song being #1 at the same time (40 weeks). Also, she made the longest return to #1, with a 29-week wait.
August 2: the Dixie Chicks's "Landslide" became one of the most successful singles on the Vanilla Top 100 of all time. Staying at #1 for a massive 8 weeks, and staying on the charts for 44 whole weeks gave the Dixie Chicks their first Veteran Award. "Landslide" has been #1 on the year end chart for the whole year of 2003 so far.
July 26: John Mayer scored one of the longest runs in the top 100 with 48 weeks of "Your Body is a Wonderland," which debuted long before we can remember. This is Mayer's first Veteran Award. The single peaked at #3
July 19: No Doubt received yet another Veteran Award, this time for "Running." They are the first artists to score a consecutive Award. "Running" will be No Doubt's third Veteran Award. "Running" scored a top 3 peak, and slipped into the Veteran's Hall of Fame at week #30.
July 12: No Doubt receieved their second Veteran Award with the smash hit "Underneath It All," which spent a whopping 5 days at #1, and a total of 47 weeks on the charts! One of the biggest songs of 2002 and 2003.
July 5: Aaliyah grabbed her second Veteran Award with "Miss You," which peaked at #4, and stayed in the top 100 for 34 consecutive weeks.
June 21: Santana & Michelle Branch hit the Veteran's Hall of Fame with their #2 smash single "Game Of Love," after an impressive 38-week run. This is Michelle's third Veteran Award.
June 7: After a 31-week run, Christina Aguilera's #1 hit "Beautiful" entered the Veteran Award's Hall of Fame. This is Aguilera's first Veteran Award. "Beautiful" spend 2 weeks at #1.
May 30: The Distillers hit the Veteran Award's Hall of Fame after an impressive 40-week run with their breakout hit "City of Angels." They also spent 3 weeks at #1 with this song.
May 17: The Used hit the Veteran's Hall of Fame for the first time,with their debut hit "The Taste Of Ink," which spent a total of 32 weeks on the Vanilla Top 100.
May 10: Nivea hit the Veteran Hall of Fame with the help of Brian and Brandon Casey on "Don't Mess With My Man" which hit #2 and stayed on the top 100 for 32 weeks.
May 3: Missy Elliott earned her first Veteran Award with the top 3 hit "Work It," which spent a total of 32 weeks on the Vanilla Top 100.
Apr. 19: Pink took home her second Veteran Award for "Family Portrait," which peaked at #6 and spent 31 weeks in the Vanilla Top 100. Pink is the second artist to have two Veteran Awards, along with Michelle Branch.
Apr. 12: Kelly Clarkson entered the Veteran Award for the first time with "A Moment Like This," which peaked at #1 for five weeks.
Apr. 5: Good Charlotte entered the Veteran Award after falling off of a 32-week reign, peaking at #3 with "Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous."
Mar. 29: Sugarcult entered the Veteran Award with "Pretty Girl" at 30 weeks, peaking at #2
Mar. 22: Michelle Branch became the first artist (not including featuring songs) to earn two Veteran Awards for "All You Wanted" (Jan. 11) and "Goodbye To You."
Mar. 15: Aaliyah entered the Veteran Award Hall of Fame with her hit "I Care 4 U" at 30 weeks, peaking at #3
Mar. 1: Jack Johnson became the 16th veteran, as his hit "Flake" hit 32 weeks. It never reached the top ten, peaking at #11.
Feb 22: Although "Don't Let Me Get Me" qualified for a Veteran Award, the Award was established November 9th of 2002. Therfore, Pink's first Veteran Award is "Just Like A Pill," which reached #1 for two weeks.
Feb 15: Emo Star Dashboard Confessional enters the Veteran Award's Hall of Fame with a massive 44 week run in the top 100.
Feb. 1: Eve and Alicia Keys made it to the Veteran's Award together, with "Gangsta Lovin"
Jan. 25: Angie Martinez and Avril Lavigne were both honored, as they were bothe entered. They both had successful runs. Avril spent 4 weeks at #1, while Angie peaked in the top ten at #8.
Jan. 18: TRUSTCompany and Murder Inc's The Inc both entered the Veteran's Hall of Fame. Murder Inc made it to #1 for two weeks, and TRUSTCompany was a top ten hit.
Jan. 11: Michelle Branchs' "All You Wanted" entered the Veteran's Award peaking at #1 for 9 weeks, and staying in the top 100 for 47 weeks total. Also, Ashanti peaked at #1 for 6 weeks, staying in the top 100 for 48 weeks. Ashanti became the first artist to have two singles in the Veteran's Award.
Jan. 4: Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles" entered the Veteran's Hall of Fame, only peaking at #20, but staying on the chart for a massive 45 weeks.
Dec. 21: No Doubt's "Hella Good" entered the Veteran Award's Hall of Fame, peaking at #1 for 6 weeks.
Dec. 7: 311's "Amber" entered the Veteran Awards' Hall of Fame with a peak of #20 and spending 39 weeks in the top 100. 311 becomes the veteran with the lowest peak # [20]
Nov.30: Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle" entered the Veteran Awards' Hall of Fame third. Suprisingly, "The Middle" only peaked at #19 but almost spent 40 weeks in the top 100!
Nov.23: Fat Joe & Ashanti become the second to take a veteran award with their hit, "What's Luv," entered on November 23rd, 2002. Fat Joe became the first male artist to get a veteran award, and "What's Luv" became the first duo to get an award.
Nov. 9: Sheryl Crow became the first artist ever to grab a veteran award with her hit "Soak Up The Sun," which was entered November 9th, 2002.
