This week was full of surprises, and no-brainers. One no-brainer was the fact that Kelly Clarkson would take her fifth week at #1 with A Moment Like This. After many close calls, Michelle Branch, Norah Jones, the Distillers, and Sugarcult all failed to take the #1 spot. What was surprising in the top ten, was that after nine weeks, No Doubts Underneath it All (Stefani Pictured Below) took a sudden jump all over the worlds countdowns, including this one. They reach #2 this week. After stumbling below its peak, No Doubt is back!
Last week, Sugarcult reached their all time high at #2 with Pretty Girl. This week, they fall down a spot to #3. The Distillers City of Angels, which still has time to get #1, fell to #4. Norah Jones took the #5 spot. Good Charlottes Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous lands at #7.
This week, four fairly new songs broke into the top ten. At #6, Santana and Michelle Branch rose from #11 with Game of Love, a potential #1. From #12 to #8 is #1 veteran Pink, with her newest single, Family Portrait. Taking a leap from #17 to #9 is Camrons Hey Ma. Another no-brainer, Kelly Clarkson reaches the top ten, again. From #13 to #10, Kelly Clarksons Before Your Love reachest the top ten, battling herself [A Moment Like This] out with Santana, Pink, and Camron. If Kelly Clarksons A moment like this would outlast its moment, it may be due to Kellys own single, Before your Love.
This week was full of debuts. Simple Plan took a surprising hot shot debut at #36. Nikkis second radio-leaked [non-single] song debuted higher than the first [Black Velvet]. Piece of my Heart, taken from the American Idol: Greatest Moments Compilations CD debuted high at #45. Jay Z & Beyonces Bonnie & Clyde debuted at #52. Speaking of Bonnie and Clyde, Eminems Lose Yourself debuted at #55. Last but not least, TLC debuted at #62.
With the release of her new video, Madonna skyrocketed from #72 to #23 with Die Another Day. Boxcar Racers There Is jumped from 34 to 18, while Jennifer Lopezs Jenny From Da Block jumped from #32 to #19.
Next Weeks top ten entries could possibly include Jurassic 5, Boxcar Racer, Missy Elliott, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, or Mariah Carey. Watch next week to see if Kelly Clarkson can still stay at the top, or will No Doubt claim their next #1? See you next week.
