This week was the closest race in J-Top 100 History! Kelly Clarkson, Sugarcult, The Distillers, and No Doubt were each #1 at one point this week. The race finished Thursday, October 3rd, and they each got their positions by a thread! By only a few requests, Kelly Clarkson got 14% of the charts airplay, giving A Moment Like This its fourth week at #1. Breakout emo band Sugarcult, who debuted in the lower half of the top 100 six weeks ago, took the #2 spot with just one percent lower [13%] of airplay. Sugarcult leaped from #7 to #2. The Distillers City of Angels continue to rise, taking 10% of airplay, while No Doubt took 9% with Underneath It Alls greatest impact yet. Norah Jones former #1, Dont Know Why took 5th place with 4% of airplay this week.
Meanwhile, the top 100 experienced many high notable debuts. This weeks hot shot debut was by Jennifer Lopez with her new single, Jenny From The Block. It debuts high at #32. Good Charlotte falls to #6 and has fell under its peak, and is not expected to rise above. Michelle Branch fell below her peak [#2] weeks ago, and is now at #7. Angie Martinez peaks at #8 this week, and newcomer BoA enters the top ten this week, entering at #9. Avril Lavigne falls two spots to #10 with Sk8er Boi.
Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson will not stop making big news! This week, her second single, Before Your Love leaps twenty spots to #13 and will probably enter the top ten next week. Ashanti leaps 15 spots to #15. Camron leaps 17 spots to #17 with Hey Ma. Tamyra Gray takes a huge 31-leap jump from #52 to #21 with her first radio single, Over The Rainbow ripped from the Las Vegas American Idol show. Due to heavy requests, ISSYS take a 33 leap to #44 with Single for the Rest of My Life.
